Microsurgical Basic Course

This course focuses on training students basic skills in microvascular and microneural surgery.
The microsurgical basic course is practice-oriented and involves intense training: the relation practice:theory is about 3:1.

The basic skills in microsurgical preparation, microvascular surgery and microneurosurgery will be taught, furthermore, insertion of venous – and nerve conduits will be demonstrated.

Every participant will have a microscope and Varioscope at his/her disposal.

By the end of this course every participant should be able to perform end-to-end anastomoses, end-to-side-anastomoses on small vessels as well as microvascular conduits and microneural sutures under the microscope.

The course participants (max.18) will be supervised by demonstrators with long standing experience in microsurgical techniques in the clinical setting of various surgical disciplines.
