Microsurgery and Coverage of Tissue Defects at the Extremities

In this newly designed course human anatomical specimen will serve as training objects in order to offer a maximum of surgical reality.

The aim of this course is to study on fresh cadaver extremities apart from the exact preparation of nerves and vessels,their microsurgical reconstruction including venous and nerve the lifting of fascio-cutaneous flaps for coverage of tissue defects in the extremities the microsurgical techniques under close to real-life conditions.

The course program contains a large spectrum of microsurgical operations- from operative treatments of nerve compression-syndroms to pedunculated flap plastic procedures and free fibular transfer.

The standardised application of these techniques in acute and elective procedures will be trained under guidance of a competent group of experienced surgeons of diverse specialities.

Each participant has an upper and lower extremity at his/her disposal and is equipped with an operating microscope and a Varioscope.
