Current Treatment Concepts in Implantology
In this course, basic and advanced procedures in implantology will be presented theoretically and practically to the practising dentist.
Main Emphasis is placed on presentation of current surgical, periodontical and prosthetical treatment concepts. Individual topics comprise basics, the standard treatment from planning to aftercare, reconstruction of local osseous defects, concepts for complex dental implant prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with residual teeth or toothless patients as well as techniques to improve periimplant gingival esthetics and reduction of treatment duration. Results from clinical studies and our own clinical-and radiologic long-term follow-ups shall evaluate the treatment concepts regarding complications, practice-relevance and prognosis.
The presentation by Univ.Prof.Dr.Lorenzoni is complemented by lectures by Univ.Prof.Dr.Weiglein, anatomical
The practical exercises are carried out on human cadaver specimen, that show lifelike consistency, colour and flexibility due to the embalming technique according to Thiel. Participants are offered the possibility to perform standard implantations, diverse prosthetical procedures as well as augmentation methods with the support of magnifying visual aids, operating microscopes or the Varioscope.
Costs for food and drinks during breaks and the framing program are included in the course fee.
The course is accredited by the Austrian Medical Association and Austrian Association of Dentistry with 20 points each (Advanced Training Diploma).
